Physical and mental intensity rarely go hand in hand. In fact, for me, being prepared mentally ignites my physical intensity to levels I don't even know exist. I've definately put myself through wods when my mind is all over the place. In fact, lately I haven't been able to attack workouts with the intensity that I would like. My mind has been all over the place with the gym and programming and all of the FGB5 athletes that I have put myself at the bottom of the priority list and I am totally ok with that. I have to be. I can't do anything about it now. What's done is done and I can't change the past. I can only prepare mentally for what is about to happen. If you focus and get caught up in what's in the past, then the task at hand will be upon you and pass you without you even know what hit you. BE PREPARED! Get your mind to the right place. Block out everything else that is going on. At least for the time it takes to complete your task and you will AMAZE yourself. Do whatever you do to get your adrenaline pumping to levels you've never experienced. Overcome all obstacles and leave nothing to blame anything on. Own your perfromance. After all is said and done, all you will have left is what you brought. Bring your A-game.
"I don't worry about the other competitors. If I hit my goals in all of the events, place will take care of itself. I can't help how good the other athletes are. They're awesome athletes. I can't do anything about that. I just have to control my game and play my game and place will take care of itself."
