As some of you might know I visited my Hometown Mount Pleasant this weekend. Something that has been long over due, it's amazing how 5 years can go by. We left last Thursday and with all the craziness of prepping food to stay on track for The Open, and getting the dogs ready I had realized procrastination and a busy week set me up for a no show for my weekly blog. From a leadership stand point I felt obsolete. I feel like I had let the team down by not setting the example of what I ask the others to do on a weekly basis. I sent out a message to the team apologizing that my blog didn't get done as I wanted them to know it wouldn't happen again. One of the responses I got back was... "Your better than that." it might have been sent as a joke but...I am better than that, and my actions were unacceptable . Right after that I received another message saying "Maybe there's a reason for it? Maybe new inspiration will hit you." Well it did.
The person i grew up to be and that I am today is a reflection of my up bringing and my Dad had a lot to do with that. Visiting him this weekend reminded me of what I need to and how I want to be a leader to those around me. My Dad is a good leader in all aspects of his life. Wether it be home, work or faith he leads from the front and gives me something to look up to. Someone to follow. He has inspired me to be a better man and I will continue to grow as a leader for those around me.
Thanks to everyone for all your faith in me as a Leader. There's more to come.
