2015 Fittest Games!

2015 is upon is us and for myself and some of the other CFRR coaches, that means a very familiar competition is right around the corner: The Fittest Games.

Our friends down at CrossFit Central have been putting this competition on since 2007 and it has grown to be one of the largest and most competitive competitions in the country. Personally, this will be my 6th time participating in this competition, 4 as an individual and 2 on a team.

This year CFRR will send multiple individual competitors including Coach Anna and a team. The team will consist of coaches Adrien, Chris, and Myself.

The 4th team member is one of the hardest working athletes in the gym. She has been consistently improving since her first class and has become a very well rounded individual when it comes to CrossFit's idea of "wide variety and constantly varied" movements. She definitely brings intensity and commitment to the team and will no doubt be a huge asset. Renee Rodriguez will compete alongside the CFRR coaches this year and we couldn't be more excited to have her on our team!

I've heard plenty of times over the last few years that it's hard to get really good at Crossfit when you're not a coach and this is total BS. Renee isn't a coach. She has a full time job and makes time to get better at Crossfit. She has been in classes as early as 530am and as late as 6pm. Basically, whatever her schedule can accommodate. She has put her mind to getting better at this sport and has succeeded.

As with any sport, you never get "good enough" at Crossfit. You simply just continue to get better. Faster, stronger, larger work capacity, whatever area you can think of. This is what CFRR is all about. Getting better and reaching goals. Congrats to all that have set out to get better and congrats to Renee! We are stoked to compete with you at this year's Fittest Games!
