The Open is upon us and the first wod is out and it is a burner to say the least.
AMRAP 7 mins
Burpees
The rep begins standing up and then hitting a chest to ground burpee and then jumping to a target 6" above the athletes reach.
This could be a difference maker as a lot of crossfitters have adapted to an unlocked hip and mini jump at the top of the burpee.
My advice would be to keep moving and try your damnedest to not miss a rep. Open your hips and touch the above target with both hands. It's roughly the length of a mile run or a 2K row so just keep yourself moving. It won't be how fast you can do each individual burpee, but how little you can rest and how consistent you can be. It's a muscular endurance wod and from what I can tell, the quads will be burning. Get it done and move on. Don't get too caught up with your score. If this is in your wheelhouse then hit it hard, if it isn't, then just get through it and move on to the next.
How can you not be excited about possibly the best overall bodyweight exercise?
Let's do this CFRR!
Regionals baby!
